FC Buffalo came back twice in a 2-2 tie with rivals Erie Commodores on Friday in Pennsylvania, keeping its playoff hopes alive and claiming four of six points from the Erie County Derby.
Substitute midfielder Taner Bay smashed home a wonder goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time off a flick from fellow sub Niklas Breunung as FCB snared a point to stay within striking distance of Rochester for the second playoff spot in the NPSL’s Eastern Conference.

Cameron Emerson scored FCB’s other goal early in the second half when he powered a header home off a Kieran Toland corner kick.
It makes Sunday’s 2 p.m. visit from Rochester a huge one in terms of the playoff race.
If FCB beats Rochester by three or more goals, it will make the playoffs on July 13 with a win over Cleveland -and– a Rochester draw or loss to Erie.
If FCB beats Rochester by less than three goals, it will make the playoffs on July 13 with a win over Cleveland -and– a Rochester loss to Erie.
If FCB beats Rochester by any score, but fails to beat Cleveland on July 13 or Rochester beats Erie on July 13, Rochester claims a playoff spot.
If FCB draws or loses on Sunday, Rochester claims a playoff spot.
