FC Buffalo’s USL League Two playoff hopes were dashed in Ohio on Wednesday evening as the Wolves fell 3-1 to Toledo Villa at Paul Hotmer Field, dropping their record to 4-4-3 and fourth place in the Valley Division table.

Toledo struck first as Jaland Larmond drove inside the left side of the penalty area and took a shot across goal, with Trace Terry depositing in the sixth minute.

FC Buffalo got the crucial equalizer 15 minutes into the second half as Ander Castillo, from the top of the penalty area, slotted the ball into the bottom right corner of the net off a Rashaad Ogun assist.

But Toledo retook the lead a minute later following an own-goal scored inside the penalty box.

Despite the Wolves searching to make a late comeback by pushing more people forward, Toledo capitalized and sealed the game as a quick, dangerous counterattack resulted in William Shaffer taping in the ball for the 3-1 lead in the 90th minute.
