FC Buffalo forward Ander Castillo added another honor to his resume on Tuesday when the United Soccer League named him USL2 Divisional Player of the Year for the Valley Division.
Castillo led FCB in goals for the third-straight year and second-successive season since the club moved to USL League Two, finishing one goal shy of the league’s Golden Boot award (on a hotly-disputed ‘own goal’ nonetheless!),

Castillo, a University of Albany senior, now holds the FC Buffalo men’s all-time record for goals in a season and career goals, and the club looks forward to what’s next for the Bilbao-born striker.
“Ander is an exceptional player and person,” said FC Buffalo co-owner Nick Mendola. “He’s a relentless talent who will thrive in any system once given a chance to showcase his talent. We know there are huge things to come for Ander, and there will always be a home for him in blue and gold. Vamos Los Lobos.”
