Wolves at School: September 2024

The only thing that’s stopped FC Buffalo’s college players this Fall has been injury, and we know those players are ready to pounce once healthy and put into the mix.

Have a look at the boys and girls buzzing around the NCAA and NAIA pitches early these college seasons.

But before that, pick up your 2024 season tickets for all men’s and women’s regular season games for the same low price.

FC Buffalo men at school: September 2024

AJ Zarcone, Riley Wagner, Elliott Weber, Dylan Rice (’23) and Jack Petrie — The Griffs are on the upswing in no small part thanks to our crew. Jack’s been exceptional in goal presiding over both of their wins and lone draw. Fellow local boy AJ is leading the Griffs in minutes and has pitched in a goal.

Aitor Jorde — Aitor has Slipper Rock’s lone goal, which sadly for FCB coach Sean Hallas came to beat D’Youville University. We just wanted both teams to have fun.

Ander Castillo, Max Kwitchoff, Brennan McDermott, Timo Jansen (and Elias Ehlin ’23) — It’s been a busy Fall for the boys, and an honor-driven one as Ander Castillo was named America East offensive player of the week. He has three goals in just 323 minutes, while Timo’s on two goals and two assists to pace the Great Danes in goal contributions. Max is chewing up minutes, too, while Brennan’s appeared in all seven games.

Andreas Kokoska — Our Czech #39 has helped Carey to an unbeaten start.

Aney Djadou and Diego Rivera — Diego is cooking for Buffalo State, bagging six goals and four assists through six games, while Aney’s pitched in with 153 quality minutes this early season.

Ashton Jell — Lancaster’s “Jello” is flying for a very good Duquesne side, leading them in goals from the back.

Calum Newson (and Arthur Hill ’23) — Cal is firing forward with Kentucky Wesleyan, where he’s scored three goals in three games.

Fabian Overkamp — No one’s played more minutes for Robert Morris than Fabi, who has added a D-1 goal to keep up his knack for goals out of the back from the summer.

Gaven Egan — A leap up for Gaven, who has an assist in 479 minutes for a very strong Binghamton side.

Landon Hungerford, Felix Kogler, Luca Buscaglia, Matheus Spina (and Thomas Brooks, Robert Woods, and Jamie Barry ’23) — The Purple Eagles have scored nine times in their last two games, and Felix is tied atop the goal contributions list with six (four goals, two assists). Matheus and Luca have also scored, while Landon leads the way with 630 minutes (aaaaall of the minutes).

Luke Reidell‘s come off the bench for Indiana University this season, his sophomore campaign on a loaded Big Ten contender.

Mohammed Sanyang — Mo’s played in three matches since moving from juco to D2 program Lewis University.

Nico Stoddart — Our two-year man is on the score sheet with a goal and an assist for Northern Kentucky across six matches.

Ollie Lovell — Oliver’s started all three of Ashland’s matches this season.

Rashaad Ogun — Our two-year winger is buzzing, leading Cal State Bakersfield in goals and pitching in an assist in 297 minutes.

Sam LaMendola‘s made his Cortland season debut in a win over Penn-State Behrend.

FC Buffalo women at school: September 2024

Sarah Woods — UB is flying and ‘Woods’ is a big part of the show, starting all seven games for the Bulls.

Claire DeAngelis — Claire is again amongst Charleston Southern’s top dogs, with a team-high two assists in 469 minutes.

Erin Weir and Skylar Cornell are both delivering big for Canisius University. Reliable defender Weir has a goal and two assists in 475 minutes, while Sky has two assists in 464 minutes for the 4-1-1 Griffs.

Gwen Jarosz Is leading Buffalo State in minutes and has an assist for the Bengals in her first season after transferring back to WNY.

Gianna Tuzzolino has featured in six games for Kentucky as a freshman, putting three shots toward goal.

U.S. youth national team duty meant we only saw one game of Linda Ullmark in blue and gold — a hat trick, no less — and her North Carolina tenure is delivering more on that promise. She’s started all nine of 8-1 UNC’s games as a freshman.

Izzy Schmidt, Morgan Kulniszewski, and Delta Barber have Niagara University flying through seven matches. Delta’s played every minute of her six appearances, while Izzy’s been in six contests and Morgan has a goal and two assists in seven games.

Brigid Mulholland — Brigid’s played every minute of a strong sophomore season for 4-2-2 Loyola in Maryland.

Charlie Pawli — The Great Danes back has been limited to two games but went all 90 minutes in each.

Eileen Solomon — Our terrier of a midfield has played 511 minutes across six starts for the Boston Terriers.

Kam Vanderbosch Kam’s played every minute of her seven starts for Siena, crushing it at the back.

Shea Vanderbosch — Shea has an assist from the back in addition to her outstanding goalkeeping at Syracuse. Emma Klein is still making her way back from a long-term injury.

Agnes Stenlund has played every minute for Toledo in her first season post-transfer from Niagara, allowing a miserly one goal per game. The Rockets are at UB on Oct. 10.

Rory Schaeffer — No one’s played more minutes for St. Francis than our o.g., who has 713 under her belt in eight starts.

Kylie Miranto has ripped off 10 shot attempts in three matches, all starts, at Daemen.

Sydney Mulka posted a pair of clean sheets from five starts at Penn State Harrisburg.

Mirann Gacioch — No one’s played more minutes for Ohio State than Mirann, and the Buckeyes are off to an incredible start.

Meredith Donohue has started all five of St. Lawrence’s matches, registering an assist for the Saints.
