FC Buffalo whiffed on a prime opportunity to control its own destiny after losing their third home match of the season Sunday.
FC Sonic (4-1-1) came up from Lehigh Valley and avenged their only loss of 2010 by besting the Blitzers (3-0-3), 1-0, on a sixth-minute goal from Joseph Puleo.
Buffalo is off until June 24-25, when they’ll swing through Lehigh Valley for consecutive dates with Sonic and the Pocono Snow.
The Blitzers next home outing will be their first bout for silverware, as they’ll host Stuart Elliott and the English Northern League’s Bedlington Terriers FC in the inaugural battle for Lord Bedlington’s Cup. Tickets are available here and at the Bisons Box Office.
