FC Buffalo is pleased to announce a new partnership with Soccer Shots Buffalo. This innovative arrangement provides an opportunity for children ages 5-8 to enjoy a five-session introduction to soccer program, coupled with attending a match of the highest level of men’s soccer in the area the same day.
The program will take place on FC Buffalo home game days, beginning May 27 vs Erie Commodores. During FC Buffalo games, children will receive instruction from experienced Soccer Shots coaches and FC Buffalo players or staff. Kids will also receive complimentary admission to the match, as well as a free ticket for a parent/guardian.
The emphasis for this new program is to encourage kids to play, watch, and learn. Soccer Shots Buffalo is changing the way parents and kids approach the game locally by building an atmosphere that allows kids to play and have fun while coaching under a curriculum that promotes character development and skill building. Coaches are trained comprehensively and are tasked not only with coaching soccer, but engaging and inspiring children. The premier children’s soccer experience, Soccer Shots’ mission is clear: positively impacting children’s lives.
After the sessions, FC Buffalo takes over for the watch and learn portion. Kids will be up-close watching the top amateur players in the country as they clash with our Midwest rivals in the NPSL. Observing the game at this level will encourage participants to take the new skills they’ve learned and apply them during game and play situations in the future. Experiencing the pace and power of FC Buffalo in person, we believe, will translate into a new generation of inspired, empowered, confident players.

FC Buffalo chief operating officer Scott Frauenhofer: “The opportunity to learn a new set of skills, and see top players apply those skills in a game is an invaluable experience for kids entering the game. We’re seeking to create an ecosystem where kids are both learning and experiencing the game at a great level, but also having a lot of fun that’s going to translate into a lifelong passion for the game.”
Soccer Shots co-owner and executive director Mark Miller: “We’re really excited to provide this unique experience for the kids of WNY. The concept of Play, Watch, Learn can be something really great for young players to grow interest in the world’s most popular sport. We’re also looking forward to starting this relationship with a club that is very well known for their passionate fans, and as the top soccer team in Buffalo and WNY. Their focus is on the experience of their fans, as our focus is on the experience of our families!”
