The first game of FC Buffalo’s weekend road trip didn’t lack for goals, but it certainly was missing a ‘W.’
FC Reading Revolution (3-0-5) scored in the second minute and would never trail on their home turf of Shirk Stadium, beating the Blitzers (2-2-3) by a score of 4-2.
Rich Wilson tallied his first goal as a Blitzer in the 22nd minute, while Daniel Stevens converted on a penalty kick to collect his premiere FCB goal as well. Tony Mermigas posted an assist on the Wilson goal. The Revolution garnered a 3-2 lead by halftime, though there was some question as to whether one of their goals crossed the goal line.
The boys will look to split the trip with the business end of their season series with the Blaze kicking off at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in New Jersey.
Starters: Panaro, Johnson, Gradwell, Steinmetz, Westerholt, Wilson, Stevens, Gustafson, Grabowski, Catchpole, Mermigas.
