The snow has had its way with Buffalo in the past, but not in June and not Saturday evening.
Mike Unwin and Stephen Baker scored and Patrick Regna made nine saves to record a clean sheet to open the weekend home stand with a 2-0 win.
The Blitzers (2-1) host the rival Erie Admirals (2-0) Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium.
Unwin opened the scoring on a neat flick from Mike Reidy, which was enough to send FCB into halftime up, 1-0. Baker’s goal was the culmination of a 18-yard box flurry started by Unwin and Patrick Zelko.
Buffalo outshot Pocono, 25-12. The Blitzers also picked up two yellow cards: one to Cory Phillips and the other to Matt Stedman. Defender Josh Faga was named Man of the Match.
