FC Buffalo men’s team capped off their 2024 season undefeated at home as the Wolves got a dominant 10-0 win over a depleted Dayton Dutch Lions team at Robert Rich All-High Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Wolves scored two goals in the first half but killed off the game in the second half by scoring eight goals. Ander Castillo scored a hat trick, while Felix Kogler, Gaven Egan, Fabian Overkamp, Aitor Jorde, Oliver Lovell, and Max Kwitchoff joined a Dayton own goal on the score sheet.

Egan started the scoring in the second minute with his first goal for the club as he shot the ball near-post after a Max Kwitchoff feed.
Mohammad Sanyang, from the left flank, swept a cross to the back post to which Castillo comfortably nodded home in the 26th minute for the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Sanyang continued punishing Dayton’s backline. From the right flank, he delivered another cross to Jorde, who headered the ball into the net for the 3-0 lead. Sanyang picked up two assists tonight, bringing his total assists and goals to three.
Second-half substitute Matheus Spina assisted Fabian Overkamp in the 62nd minute for the 4-0 lead as the German defender headed in his third goal of the season.
A pass from Ollie Lovell to Kiwtchoff would result in the Buffalo native hammering a shot into the bottom right corner of the net for the 5-0 lead just 20 minutes into the second half.
Nico Stoddart, who also entered later in the match, assisted the blue and gold’s sixth goal as he saw Felix Kogler inside the net, tapping the ball past Dayton’s keeper for his first goal of the season in the 69th minute.
Castillo continued punishing the undermanned Dayton Dutch Lions team, scoring a late double and influencing a Dayton own-goal for the final 10-0 win.
Castillo ends his superstar-defining season by scoring a hat trick this evening, with 17 total goals for the season, and 15 in the USL League Two.
The Wolves finally answered Sean Hallas’s defensive demand as the team ended their season by getting their first clean sheet as well.
Hallas concludes his first year as FCB’s head coach with a 5-4-3 record in the USL League Two. His team placed fourth with 18 points in the Valley Division table following a 0-0 draw from Toledo Villa and Cleveland Force later in the evening.
As one of the four national semifinalists, FC Buffalo women’s team returns to All-High Stadium next week as they await their semifinal opponent after bypassing the East Conference playoffs as hosts for claiming the Iron Division crown with Sunday’s 2-2 draw versus Steel City. FCB will kick off the second game of the Friday, July 19 doubleheader, with the first match beginning at 5 pm.
