FC Buffalo, in conjunction with Kings Hammer FC and the United Soccer League, is postponing Friday’s 7pm USL League Two kickoff over player safety concerns.
All parties worked together Thursday and Friday until it became clear that air quality had regressed and would not make for safe playing conditions, with unsafe air quality projections are set to persist into the evening and stay inside the “very unhealthy” threshold.
The clubs are working hard with the intent of rescheduling the match for later this month. FC Buffalo will honor all tickets purchased for Friday’s game at any other men’s or women’s game this season.
The same projections do look favorable for safe playing conditions for the FC Buffalo women’s 7pm Saturday match with Erie Commodores. Should something change, we will update the status immediately through the same channels of communication.
Fans coming to Saturday’s game are encouraged to bring soccer balls, shin guards, and/or cleats/boots in working condition to benefit the International Institute of Buffalo.
