As a staff, FC Buffalo has watched and admired the work 26shirts.com has done in earning money for terrific causes, so it was a no-brainer when the Buffalo-based company asked us to do a unique FCB shirt for our fans.

Beginning Monday our mascot Wolf will be featured on a shirt sold at 26shirts.com for the next 14 days, with $8 from every shirt going to the handsome young lad in the photo above.

His name is Jonah, and he’s fighting Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Young Jonah is a battler, as are his Angola-residing mail carrier parents Jen and Adam.

From Jonah’s family:

“Jonah was diagnosed on 12/18/14 at the age of 15 months with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer. Jonah and his family are currently traveling back and forth between Buffalo and NYC to get Jonah the best possible treatment for his disease. The cost of traveling and living expenses in addition to maintaining their bills at home has taken a toll on this family.”

From us:

“Jonah’s story touched us immediately, and we’d really like to put a dent in his family’s medical bills any way we can,” said FCB co-owner Nick Mendola. “Thanks to Del Reid at 26shirts.com for thinking of us as a vehicle, and for everything they do for people in our city.”

Along with your tee shirt purchase, we’ve also been saving six match-used jerseys to auction off with a portion of the proceeds going to a good cause, and we think Jonah is the perfect recipient. Check those out here.
