We’ve got a couple forwards on the docket today: speedy Bryant finisher Brett Larocque and giant Brockport target man Peter Di Lorenzo. Both have scored goals by the dozen in college, and both will bring different challenges to opposing defenses this summer in Buffalo.
First: Brett Larocque
How would you describe yourself as a player, and what players in the world at your position do you admire?
I am a very direct player that likes to run onto the ball and take players on 1 v 1. My speed helps me get behind defenders to receive through balls going towards goal. Since I’m a winger/striker, some of my favorite players in the world include Frank Ribery, Ajren Robben and Eden Hazard because of their speed and ability to take players on.
What do you like to do away from soccer?
I enjoy playing other sports like hockey and hanging out with my friends.
What’s your most memorable soccer experience?
The time we (Bryant U.) played in the NEC championship game. Went to 2OT and it was the first time our team had ever made it.
What’s something fans should know about you?
I’m a French Canadian that goes to school in the states.
Next up: Peter Di Lorenzo
How would you describe yourself as a player, and what players in the world at your position do you admire?
I work very hard to do what I love and to get where I want to be I know I have to work very hard for it. A player that I admire in my position is Zlatan Ibrahimovic he is quite the finisher and I love everything he does. My real favorite soccer player that I’ve admired since I could remember is David Beckham he’s my idol and the only professional soccer player I have ever wanted to meet.
What do you like to do away from soccer?
When being away from soccer which is not a lot of the time, I love to go to the beach and just hang out with friends. When its not beach season I love to just sit relax and watch movies.
What’s your most memorable soccer experience?
Just this past year where Brockport was at Plattsburgh and we went down 2-0 in the first half. With 20 minutes left in the 2nd half I scored to make it 2-1 than 10 minutes later I scored again to tie it 2-2. In overtime I took a cross off my chest outside the 18 yard box and volleyed it into the top left corner. Felt amazing. It felt even better because that game decided our seed for the playoffs.
What’s your most memorable non-soccer experience?
Would have to be going to the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando FL with the family. I love family vacations and nothing beats spending your time pool side at the hotel with the people you love most.
What’s something fans should know about you?
The fans should know that I am here to try to bring the trophy home to Buffalo for my new city, for our city!
