Head to the team store and get some blue and gold gear
FC Buffalo center back Kendell McFayden has been named the Mitre National Player of the Week for the 16th week of the 2015 NPSL season.
McFayden was named Man of the Match for helping shut down Lansing United at center back in last Friday’s 3-0 win, and then garnered honors again when he scored the match-winning goal in Sunday’s road win at Fort Pitt Regiment.
“”The recognition is well-earned, and we couldn’t be happier for Kendell,” said Scott Frauenhofer, chief operating officer of FC Buffalo.
“He’s really put together a phenomenal season and, along with the rest of the FCB back line, has made our defense one of the top units in the league. He’s always talking and organizing, and his teammates look to him for leadership on the pitch. He’s chipped in a few important goals this season, too, so to us it was a matter of time before he was recognized by the league.”
In parts of three seasons with FCB, McFayden has six goals and an assist in 19 matches.
McFayden, 26, is the second Blitzer to win the award, and the first since Russell Cicerone in May 2014.
FC Buffalo’s last regular season match of the season is a huge one, and it’s at home. Be at Robert E. Rich Sr. All-High Stadium for a “Win and In” playoff decider against AFC Cleveland at 7 p.m.
Good luck with the game today.
