The FC Buffalo Revs saw two goals go off their players and behind goalkeeper Samuel Torrelli in a 2-0 season-opening loss to Sporting Roos.
The Revs, the new name for FC Buffalo’s Reserves program, conceded one goal in each half.
The first came when a blocked shot popped over the head of keeper. The second was an out-and-out own goal.
Revs head coach John Grabowski said his team missed a couple tap-in goals and that both goals allowed were the Sporting Roos best chances of the game.
Grabowski praised his keeper Torrelli, who played a strong game.
The Revs only had 14 players for the match, and Grabowski is confident the Reserves will be a winning team when all’s said and done. The Revs will scrimmage FC Buffalo early this week before hosting Buffalo Celtic next Sunday in BDSL Game No. 2.
