As the latest part of our Season of Service, FC Buffalo is happy to support Queen City Kop as Buffalo’s Liverpool FC supporters group teams up with several local Premier League supporter groups to benefit our friends at Friends of Night People, who help our city’s most vulnerable with food, medical care, clothing, and more
On Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10, we’ll be at Mes Que all day collecting items for FONP’s winter needs, including non-perishable goods for their Thanksgiving season and hygiene items. FONP counts these items as high-need, so feel free to bring your donations to them separately if you cannot make it to Mes Que (but, really, why wouldn’t you?).
ITEMS IN NEED
Thanksgiving: Box stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, hot chocolate mix, instant coffee, dessert kits, canned vegetables (corn, peas, carrots, etc.)
Hygiene: Toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant, shampoo
We’ll be collecting items during all of Saturday’s Premier League action, then on Sunday from Manchester United vs. Brighton (9 a.m.) through Liverpool vs Manchester City (11:30 a.m.), the Bills vs the Browns (1 p.m.), as well as the MLS Cup (3 p.m. kickoff)
For every item donated, we will give you a raffle ticket for a load of great prizes to be awarded at the conclusion of MLS Cup (3 p.m. kickoff, so approximately 5-5:30 p.m.). The drawing will be held at the end of the MLS Cup, and you do not need to be present in order to win.
Prizes include a 1-2-3 package from Kissing Bridge, prizes from Mes Que and other local restaurants and bars, and items from the local soccer community. If you know someone who’d like to contribute an item, contact nick@fcbuffalo.org or tomplang@gmail.com.
From Queen City Kop: Buffalo is the “City of Good Neighbors” and it’s time once again for our soccer community to come out and put those words into action. Whether your club is playing or not, we’d love for all of Buffalo’s supporters’ groups to come out in full force to enjoy the football, cheer on the Bills, and most importantly help our neighbors in need. Hope to see you there!
